🌟My First Class: How I Learned to Express Feelings with Sound

It was highly enjoyable and rewarding teaching my initial lesson, "Expressing Feelings Through Sounds." It was our initial 8-lesson series class, and though I had been nervous before, as music began and children were participating in it, it all fell into place.

A Day I Will Never Forget 🎵

One of the moments was towards the start of class during warm-up with music. When I prompted in a bouncy musical clip which I had prepared using the AI, I witnessed one boy literally break into dance with sheer freedom and joy. What he danced was neither taught nor prompted—it was raw expression. Seeing him dance so uninhibitedly and happily in rhythm with the beat was so precious. It reminded me why I designed this lesson in the first place: so children can express themselves in a happy and expressive manner. Seeing that unplanned dance stole my whole day—it was the kind of moment which gives you actual joy and pride.

💬 Great and Fun Experience The entire lesson went better than I would have anticipated. By being alert through mimicking facial expressions and the rhythm game, children were attentive, curious, and bouncy. Even though I was teaching through Zoom, children were as responsive as they could be towards timing and musical directions. Either they were doing something with emotional cards, making faces, or rhythm-beating, they were all bouncy and giggling.

It was all the more significant because I was in a place where I could bring some joy into children's lives which they perhaps very much required. most children are raised in emotionally-expression-deficient homes and to be in a place where I could offer them some comfort in this regard was something which I will hold very close. It was never ever about music but about spreading joy, connection, and confidence. It was repeating the first class all over again and made me realize how much meaning ephemeral touches can lend. It made me joyous, contented, and prepared to teach the remaining lessons.
